Encounters with Modernity: Tradition renewed and challenged: Jews under three empires from the end of the 18th century until the 1860s

A specially designed large scale installation will enable a change in projected images showing life in the big cities' industrialized centres, to which a large number of the Jewish population moved during the 19th century. It is one of the main components of the gallery which is devoted to Jews who were then subjects of the three partitioning empires.
