Paradisus Judeorum: The "Golden Age" of Polish Jewry: 16th to mid-17th centuries
Most of Europe's Jews found shelter in Poland from the end of the 15th century until the middle of the 17th century. The interactive model of the capital, Cracow, together with the predominantly Jewish town of Kazimierz, will present their place in this city. The other part of the gallery will be devoted to Jewish self-government in the multicultural Polish-Lithuanian kingdom.
The Virtual Library
In the 16th and the 17th centuries Jewish communities in Poland became one of the most important centers of the Diaspora. The mostly religious literature of this period, written in Hebrew and Yiddish, reflects contemporary changes. The "Virtual Library" is one of the thematic galleries which will present visitors with fragments of this pretty hermetic part of the heritage of the Jewish culture.
